Ian Thomas Associates provides legal services and regulatory and compliance advice to two main groups of people. We receive instructions directly from businesses and individuals, and we receive referral work from other lawyers.
With regard to our work for businesses, we work with organisations of all sizes from multi-nationals to SMEs as well working with individuals. Within these organisations, we engage with a number of different people such as technical managers, specialists responsible for regulatory compliance and in-house counsel.
We also take referrals from fellow lawyers and other professionals in Ireland, the UK, continental Europe and throughout the world. We know that some law firms in Ireland do not have the capability, capacity, experience or perhaps even the interest in our core areas of practice.
We also know that Irish law firms have clients for whom they might provide advice on corporate, commercial, employment and litigation matters but would not be comfortable advising on a food law issue, a product safety matter or providing health and safety advice to company directors. Our firm can fill those knowledge gaps.
Law firms outside Ireland may require advice on EU and Irish law for a client who is considering marketing a product in Ireland or in Europe or who has business interests in Ireland. This might include providing advice in respect of the importation and correct labelling of the product or dealing with the Irish part of a multi-jurisdictional product recall or safety issue.
When we provide our services to any of our clients we can either work within the existing legal or business team or by the particular element of the work being ‘sub-contracted’ to us. In either situation we work alongside the relevant individuals within the organisation or law firm to ensure that our advice fulfils the legal and commercial requirements of the ultimate client.
For all our clients we strive to provide consistently high quality and reasonably priced services in a timely manner.
