Ian Thomas is delighted to be one of the presenters in this new and exciting programme being run by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) in 2026.
As the CTSI itself says, ‘The world of legislation and regulating foods is complex but essential for both businesses and consumers’ and ‘The regulatory frameworks for foods can be overwhelming’.
The course has been created for all professionals who serve food and drink within the UK or who wish to do so in the future. It has been designed to assist participants understand the legal rules, the rationale for them and how to apply them in practice to ensure regulatory compliance for businesses and ultimately to protect consumers.
There will be two in-person training days on 19 and 20 May 2026 at the CTSI offices in Central London and on 19 May Ian will be speaking about the role of the food law barrister in the context of dealing with things when they go wrong.
