Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 872/2012 of 1st October 2012 introduces a Union List of flavourings and source materials for use in and on foods. The Regulation will apply from 22nd April 2013 and transitional measures concerning the list are contained in Commission Regulation (EU) No 873/2012.
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) will hold a seminar on flavourings legislation in Dublin on 31st October 2012.
The seminar will consider the use of flavourings in foods, the rules applicable to the labelling of foods to which flavourings have been added as well as looking at issues relating to the enforcement of flavourings legislation. At the seminar, the Food Safety Authority of Ireland will launch its new publication, Guidance on Flavourings 2012.
