Visiting Professor lecture at Ulster University

On 16 March 2026, Ian Thomas presented a lecture on the introduction to food law at Ulster University.

The lecture is part of his role as a Visiting Professor attached to the Faculty of Life and Health Sciences. It was part of the public health and nutrition communication module and was attended by undergraduate and postgraduate students studying Human Nutrition and Dietetics.

This is an annual event organised by the course director Dr Maeve Kerr, and it was great to be on campus to interact directly with the students. We had a great turn out considering that the Monday fell between the weekend and St Patrick’s day when the University was closed.

Now it’s back to supporting the University by recording lectures with my great friend and colleague, and fellow Visiting Professor, Cliodhna McDonough-Stevens.
